Passing time is a funny thing. It’s one of the constants we face, yet we act surprised when the year has come to an end and we have to get ready to brace yet another year.
As someone who’s always on the go, I’ve slowly come to realize that taking time for reflection is really important. Without it, we forget all of the important milestones and accomplishments we’ve achieved as we often give ourselves less credit than we deserve. That also explains why this 2012 recap is coming so much later than all the other ones out there.
When trying to piece together highlights from the past year, I really didn’t think that there was too much to show. From the vision board that I had created, to the five goals I wrote on my bulletin board, I read them over again and asked myself if I was able to do everything I wanted to do. It was only after catching up with some old friends, when I recounted some highlights from the previous year, did I realize that I do have many accomplishments to be proud of. From traveling to over 10 cities, winning industry awards for a client’s digital campaign, going behind-the-scenes at Toronto Fashion week as a sponsor and a volunteer, being featured on eBay.ca/Gastropost/BlogTO, moving on up to the next level at work, bootcamping and seeing results for the first time, experiencing TIFF like I’ve never had before, speaking at my first Fashion event ever, paying off OSAP and achieving other financial goals, to all of the incredible people I met over the year, and so so much more, there’s so much to be thankful for.
As we move into the New Year, it’s time to set new goals with a rejuvenated sense of hope and motivation. It’s only week two, but I’m already pumped and can’t wait to see what 2013 will bring. Writing down my goals and laying it all out on a vision board kept me grounded last year, and guided me in all the decisions I made. I plan on doing the same for this year and encourage anyone to do the same as well. It holds you accountable, and when you start to see your vision board unfold, well, it really doesn’t get much better than that.
Bring it on 2013, I’m so ready for you!

Vision Board Success is a must read for those who have always wanted to create a vision board, but never quite found the time. Leila Broughton lays out a simple 4-step instruction for creating a targeted vision board. You are instructed to choose your deepest intention or desired goals, and how to achieve whatever you want through visualization using your own personalized vsion board. Most vision boards hold several pictures and words for numerous desires and goals. However what makes Leila’s Vision Board Success unique is keeping it specific and targeted combined with the power of visualization. I highly recommend this book.I received this book free in exchange for an unbiased review and my review is exactly as stated.
