New York Fashion Week, Here I Come!

Taken at LG Fashion Week David Dixon Finale, 2011

The blinding lights. The eclectic footwear. The stylishly-clad sea of people ranging from the eccentric to the classic minimalists. Moving masterpieces down a runway. I got my first taste of a fashion show a few years ago, and haven’t looked back.

It’s been a blast exploring the fashion industry in Toronto and learning the ins and outs from being backstage dressing models, working the runway room, to supporting and hosting fashion shows on behalf of clients, to seeing our clients’ jewelry sparkle down the runway with designs by established and up-and-coming Canadian designers. These have all been fantastic opportunities that I feel so fortunate to have had in the past few years.

And now, I simply cannot contain my excitement for what’s in store this fashion season! Going straight to the heart of the world’s fashion hub, I will be attending this season’s Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference (#IFBCON) featuring workshops and speakers including my absolute fave, Song of Style. Really looking forward to two full days of learning and meeting others that are in the space and just as excited to be there as I am.

On top of all of this, I’m also working with the uber-awesome Gloria from Urbanebloc.com to bring you the latest news hot off the runway from NYC as her #NYFW Correspondent! We’ll be attending a number of shows throughout the season including a few names like BCBG, Rebecca Minkoff, Michael Kors, Adidas NEO (with Selena Gomez!) and many more. Going to also have a blast with some of my besties who will be in town at the same time!

Stay tuned for my New York Fashion Diaries, coming soon to Urbanebloc.com! Let me know if you’re in town as well, and I’d love to meet up!
