So had a bit a time on my hands this weekend and just for fun, thought I would do a mini photoshoot of my “Look of the Day”, inspired by many of my favourite fashion bloggers. I’m absolutely fascinated by how many DSLR toting stylish girls there are out there who manage to take perfect shots, day after day of their super stylish outfits. I’ve been so curious this whole time. Who takes the shots? Where do they get all the money to buy all their clothes? and thought I would give it a try. Definitely an interesting experience … luckily I was with another friend who also understands the obsession with fashion bloggers. Needless to say, our mini photoshoot didn’t go without many giggles and “WTF?!” stares from onlookers. The best was when I got “caught” posing for photos and my good friend was turning into the parking lot. All the makings of a potential accident, but luckily my friend had the sense to stop gawking and pointing at us and laughing. I don’t know how fashion bloggers do it, I tip my hat off to you.
Anyhow, super excited for three upcoming fashion shows!! For someone who’s not been to a legit one before, definitely getting my feet wet and finally getting some exposure to this fascinating industry over the next 3 weeks. First up will be the Heart Truth Fashion Show this Thursday hosted by Edelman (my employer).

The show will boast one-of-a-kind red dresses by top Canadian designers and many influential Canadians will be rocking the runway such as Deborah Cox, Arlene Dickinson, Dina Pugliese and Tre Armstrong. This event is now in its fourth year and it’s purpose is to raise awareness about women’s risk for cardiovascular disease. Really looking forward to it!

Coming up the week after is LGFW, where I was lucky enough to score tickets through Twitter for Angela Chen’s OR show on Friday, April 1st! I’ve never been to Toronto’s Fashion Week before so I’m really excited to see what it’ll hold.

Finally, I’m hoping I’ll finally be able to attend Ryerson’s Mass Exodus Fashion Show. It’s the time of year where they showcase fourth year design student’s collections and there’s also an exhibit displaying students’ final theses. It’s apparently one of the large student-run fashion shows in Canada. Can’t wait!
