Pinch me, I’ve gone to Anna Dello Russo heaven. Making a mad dash from work and running into the H&M store on Bloor, I was surprised to see that her pieces were not all laid out with the first floor being completely decked out in the iconic blue with eclectic gold trimming. I immediately asked the first sales associate I saw where I could find the “Anna” items. Guided up the escalator and around the corner, I found the small area that was like a slice of Anna Dello Russo heaven. Lining the walls with beautiful white and turquoise packaging, I asked another helpful sales associate where I could find my top wish list without even bothering to look through the boxes. Sadly, the turquoise trolley and crocodile sunnies were apparently the first few items to go, but I was able to snatch up the last pair of turquoise earrings that I’ve been coveting since the launch of the announcement of the collaboration.

It was amazing to see how other people were shopping the limited edition collection as well. There are the dedicated and the committed who will be the first to be waiting in line, hours before the store opens. There are the hoarders, those who swoop everything up in one sweep and meticulously go every each piece in a safe corner where they can look at things more closely in detail. There are the hawks that watch the hoarders carefully, and as soon as they place a box down, they’re on it without losing a beat. Then there are impulse buyers (ahem *points to self*) who can’t make decisions on the spot so they end up picking up more items than they realistically want or need. And finally, there are the scalpers who buy a piece of the entire collection and sell it online in hopes of making big bucks. It hasn’t even been 24 hours and I’ve seen the blue carryon go for over $1,000. Unbelievable!
