Quotes to Live By

“Life is daring adventure or nothing at all” – Helen Keller

“You only live once but if you do it right, once is enough” – Mae West

“Above all, try something” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

“I never worry about the future. It comes soon enough” – Albert Einstein

“One who makes no mistakes, makes nothing at all” – Giacomo Casanova

“Do one thing everyday that scares you” – Eleanor Roosevelt

“If I’d followed all the rules, I’d never have gotten anywhere” – Marilyn Monroe

“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years” – Abraham Lincoln

What an amazing example of how video can capture a story and bring it to life in ways that no other medium can. Storytelling and video content is something that we often talk about at work and something that we’re really trying to push out more and more with our clients in how we share their stories. With the right tools and technology, I’m excited to learn more about how to use more complex video programs to hopefully continue to tell my story as well through my blog; in hopes that one day, I’ll have an amazing story to tell like the 10-day journey around the world by Casey and Max.

Change

Everything happens for a reason. People change so you can learn to let go. Things go wrong, so that you appreciate when they’re right. You believe lies, so you can eventually learn to trust no one but yourself and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Are you filling your life with mistakes and miracles?

“Life is only worth a damn because it’s short. It’s designed to be consumed, used, spent, lived, felt. We’re supposed to fill it with every mistake and miracle we can manage, and then we’re supposed to let go.”

- Pierce’s mother on Community, “The Psychology of Letting Go”.

Absolutely love this quote. Puts life in an interesting perspective when you think of it as filling it with mistakes and miracles. So often you stop yourself from saying what you truly feel, doing what you would absolutely love to do – and for what? You put yourself in this box and hold yourself back because you tell yourself that’s something you should do. There is no right or wrong in life. You can go through your whole life with walls put up all around you, to protect yourself from falling or failing, afraid to venture away from what you are comfortable with. But with those walls, you also block out the exceptional that can happen to you. There’s something quite beautiful in the saying that “You gotta give a little, to get a little”. It’s only when you let go of the boundaries you’ve set up for yourself, that you open yourself up for the next great thing.
